Do you have to remove the whole door to replace the track?
The panels come out to access and fit the new track, but the surrounding frame usually stays. We remove the sliding panels, install the new rail level and true, then re-hang and align the door.
Is a stainless track better for beach homes?
Yes. Stainless resists the salt-air corrosion that destroys standard aluminum tracks near the coast. In beach communities we frequently recommend a stainless track or cap for a much longer service life.
Can't I just replace the track myself?
Track replacement involves removing heavy glass panels, fitting the rail perfectly level, and re-setting roller height and alignment. Small errors leave the door dragging or leaking. It's a job worth having done properly.
How long does track replacement take?
